The average monthly food package for a pregnant woman.

WIC provides monthly vouchers, known as WIC checks, that participants can take to the grocery store to purchase foods. Foods provided through the WIC checks include:

Milk Peanut Butter
Cheese Iron-Rich Cereals
Eggs Vitamin C-Rich Juices
Beans  

Women who exclusively breastfeed (or do not receive formula from WIC for their babies) also receive Tuna and Carrots.

Infants receive infant cereal at five months of age and juice at nine months of age.  If the mother requests, WIC will provide artificial baby milk (i.e., infant formula.)

In Milwaukee County, WIC Projects also provide vouchers, known as "Farmers' Market Checks,"  for fresh Fruits and Vegetables during the summer through local Farmers Markets.
